Periodontal Health
The multifactorial nature of periodontitis has affected the ability to accurately define the state of periodontal health. This paucity of documentation regarding clinical definitions of periodontal health has proven to act as a barrier between a patient’s periodontal health and determining meaningful treatment outcomes. This article works to differentiate periodontal disease stability and periodontal disease remission and further offer 4 clinical determinations of periodontal health depending on the state of periodontium within patients. This review of the histological and clinical determinations of periodontal health seeks to propose appropriate treatment outcomes based on the 4 classifications of periodontal health it erects.
