Simulated and clinical aerosol spread in common periodontal aerosol‐generating procedures
Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, health authorities have been prompted to review the delivery of patient care to minimise particle spread associated with various periodontal aerosol-generating procedures (AGP). Dr Puljich recently published his thesis on the spread of dental aerosols during common periodontal procedures such as ultrasonic scaling, dental polishing, and dental implant placement and drew the conclusion that use of HVS can significantly reduce the spread of contaminated particles by 37.5-97%.
